About the Artist-Anne B. Donnelly

Anne B. Donnelly

Anne was born in Columbus, Ohio to a young writer and fine arts professor at Ohio State. A family of Buckeyes and artists. Anne grew up in a cultural environment surrounded by teachers, artists and historians. She was constantly encouraged to paint and draw. It was in her blood and today she is still actively pursuing her goals as an artist.

In 1980 she walked into a Crafts Gallery in New York and was immediately drawn to the work of a stained glass artist. She learned the craft and went on to work in the field, doing commissions, teaching ,selling and always developing her skill as a glass craftsman.. In 2003 Anne left New York and moved to St. Petersburg, Florida. She joined the St. Petersburg Art Center and the Florida Craftsman where she has exhibited and sold her work. She is constantly exploring the world of fused art glass, working with various types of glass, colors and techniques. As a professional glass artist, Anne is focused on creating her own "very special style" of glass jewelry and accessories. Anne refers to her jewelry as "wearable art" and is often stopped and questioned about a piece that she is wearing and where it can be purchased.

When she is not in her studio you will find this artist tending her orchids and various plants, enjoying life with her "significant someone", cooking, entertaining friends or playing with her Scottish Terrier, Josh. Anne has two handsome sons and a beautiful granddaughter who she is very, very proud of.
Anne takes great pride in her work, always developing new combinations and shapes, experimenting and expanding her knowledge. Each piece is unique and is never duplicated. She will, however, develop a "series" such as her "heart pendants with a kiss" or "teardrop series "forthcoming). Anne NEVER uses molds, each piece is carefully planned and cut by Anne herself. After the first firing, the piece is cold worked and re-fired, often reworked and fired a third time. These beautiful "works of art" are carefully packed in a gift boxes, which have been been signed by Anne personally. Her hope is that the recipient will enjoy the piece as much as she enjoyed making it.
